I came to Laura with my reactive, anxious and aggressive 3 year old Cavapoo, Bear. I’d already sought some advice and training for him previously, but nothing was working and his behaviour was getting worse. I had reached a point where I’d almost given up and accepted worst case scenario, and both myself and Bear were deeply unhappy.
I was recommended Laura through my vet, so I chatted through advice on the phone before I’d decided to go ahead with her help. She immediately relaxed, reassured and did not pass blame. The phone call alone instilled hope.
I went for the silver package with Laura, and the results speak for themselves. I have a happier dog and his behaviour has become so much more manageable and the improvement has been remarkable.
Despite feeling really overwhelmed with how many issues there were to cover, we managed to go through everything during the sessions we had. I now understand his triggers and why he is reacting the way he is. I have been given techniques, processes and training to manage these triggers so that I can encourage him to become more confident. Bear loved Laura’s visits, and felt so relaxed around her.
The package itself is extremely good value for money, I was surprised at just how much support is available. I cannot recommend Laura more!

Laura was recommended to me and I would throughly recommend Laura to
anyone. Laura’s method is all positive training and it is truly rewarding.Kimmie was nearly 5 when I took her and had been a breeders dog, effectively I had a 5 year old puppy.Laura is patient, calm, encouraging and very knowledgeable. Each time I saw Laura she would assess where we were, address any issues, work on different aspects and leave you with a clear idea of what to work on until the next time. If unsure or questions in between Laura would reply to these. Laura was good at managing expectations and the fact that time is required. The end goal was always in mind but all of the foundations needed to be worked on to get to that stage. The difference in Kimmie is unbelievable. We still have a little way to go but in the last 4 weeks all of the hard work is paying off and Kimmie is coming on leaps and bounds and off lead quite a lot of the time even in more challenging environments.

‘Laura really listened to the issues we were having with our dog and she was really helpful in offering us practical advice which was achievable. Laura also provided very useful links and documents tailored to our needs. We are all less stressed and happier now as a result! Thank you Laura😁’
‘Laura has been brilliant helping me with my new rescue dog Stanley who started showing a very different personality once he came into our home. This included growling and barking loudly and standing on 2 feet and going mad whenever he saw another dog. Laura showed and explained to me techniques to help Stanley, how to safely introduce him to strangers so he did not feel uncomfortable, and how to get Stanley focusing on me when other dogs were around.
Laura also helped with the introductions to our very dog friendly cat, who was not remotely worried about the manic dog in front of him who wanted to chase him given half a chance, We are slowly desensitising both of them so that things are getting much calmer in the home.
I would thoroughly recommend Laura, she helped with all the issues, gave me lots of information on managing the behaviour and changing things as Stanley improved. She showed and explained things clearly and gave me confidence to deal with Stanley when I’m on my own.’

‘We were the puzzled ones when our puppy Hector began to display some behaviours which we found difficult to deal with. Laura helped us to understand how reactive he was and why this might be happening and gave us strategies to keep him calm and yet stimulated in the right way. After working with Laura we could adopt strategies for both avoiding some behaviours whilst dealing positively with others.
Laura was very reassuring that we did not have a hopeless case of the furry crocodiles but with the correct management we would have a lovely natured dog in time which we now have.
Laura’s suggestions are practical and accessible and we continue to use them now that Hector is fourteen months old. Without Laura’s advice I think we might have rehomed Hector early on and that would have a real shame because he is now flourishing.
Thank you Laura!’

‘Our Borderdoodle puppy was getting out of control on walks running after everyone else and not coming back! After a few sessions with Laura who explained very clearly about animal behaviour and which strategies to use dog walks are a much more relaxed affair for both myself and puppy. I would highly recommend Laura with her excellent knowledge and advice.’Melissa and Lottie
‘Our young Cockerpoo developed nervous behaviour around big dogs following 2 incidents. A fellow dog walker recommended Laura, and we had 2 sessions with her. She helped us to understand why Bella was behaving as she was and between us we developed some strategies that have greatly helped. She also increased our confidence in being able to help Bella through this. We would very much recommend her to anyone with a dog having behaviour issues.’Susan and Bella
‘Laura was recommended to me by a colleague. She has been fantastic with our little bundle of trouble. She started walking Ivy for us once a week when she was 6 months old. Laura met up with me first to find out all about her and what we were working on. Since that time she has been very consistent with Ivy who is making huge progress on walks despite being a crazy (now 10 month old) spaniel. Puppyhood is a huge learning curve and knowing that I was leaving Ivy to the care of someone who understands dogs was incredibly important to me as someone who works with dogs.’Sophie and Ivy
‘We chose to use Laura after I lost confidence in my previous dog walker who didn’t have much experience or training. I completely trust that she is taking good care of my dog whilst in her care and the fact she’s a behaviourist really helps to assure me that Copper is in good hands.’Danni and Copper
‘I initially planned to use Laura for a few weeks while I recuperated from an operation but 3 months later have decided to make the arrangement long term. Lex loves going out with Laura and she has chosen some great walk mates for him to socialise with which has helped him become calmer and more confident with his behaviour around other dogs. She incorporates training into her walks. Lex’s recall has greatly improved and Laura is happy to share what she does and suggest what I can do to ensure we both provide Lex with consistentcy.I would highly recommend Laura and feel Lex is in very safe hands while in her care.’Alison and Lex
‘We got our Jack Russell ‘Stevie’ when he was just 8 weeks old and soon found the need for a dog walker and trainer some weeks later. The area we live within Bristol is synonymous for having one of the highest ratios of dogs per capita in Europe so we were naturally spoilt for choice when it came to having to choose a dog walker or trainer.
Nevertheless, through the process of elimination and from recommendations and meetings we eventually met, spoke and hired Laura to take care of Stevie. Laura was chosen by us not just on the basis to take him for a walk while we were not around but also to help in his development as a young dog.
Laura was very professional and her experience and knowledge put our minds to ease straight away. From the time Laura
spend with Stevie, his behaviour and temperament was amazing and he was so well behaved (for a mischievous Jack Russell).Stevie is now 18 months and is known by everyone in our park as the nicest Jack Russell with the best temperament you will even meet, thanks to Laura. We can’t recommend Laura more highly. So if you are looking for piece of mind and the best training and wellbeing of your dog, there is no need to look beyond Laura Hinton.’

‘We feel incredibly lucky to have found Laura to help support my partner and I to train our springer spaniel puppy and take her for walks. She has a great deal of knowledge about dog behaviours and has made us feel very comfortable about how to best support our puppy so that she will grow into an obedient and and happy dog. Laura has shown us how to use clicker training as well as effective lead walking among many other tools for successful dog training. Laura is a very friendly and approachable person and and has a wonderful calm way with our pup which is always reassuring.’
